Golf legend Greg Norman may not have won the bid to design the course for the Rio Games, but his input will still be valuable to someone in 2016.

Specifically China. The country’s golf association has appointed Norman their advisory coach for the 2016 Rio Games, which means he’ll help develop the golf program and identify the country’s best players for the upcoming Olympics.

The two-time Open champ said he’s honored by the appointment, and that being a coach will be the culmination to his 35-year international career.

Norman has a lot of work ahead of him if China hopes to win a medal: The nation’s top player, Wu Ashun, sits at No. 179 in the World Golf Rankings.

MOSCOW (AP) — Russia’s Olympic Committee says eight of the country’s athletes have registered positive in doping retests for the 2012 London Games.

The brief statement from the ROC on Saturday did not give names or what disciplines the athletes were in, but said they came from three different sports.

It said further information would not be released until so-called “B samples” were tested that would confirm or contradict the retests.
