With next year’s New York Super Bowl landing on February 2, followed quickly by the 2014 Sochi Olympics from February 7 to 23, the Oscars have officially pushed back next year’s ceremony until March 2, to avoid any conflict with the events.
Of course, this isn’t really news: The same thing happened in 2006 and 2010. It also won’t end anytime soon, since the 2018 PyeongChang Games will go from February 9 to 25. But that said, between the BCS, the Golden Globes, the Super Bowl, the Olympics, the Oscars, March Madness, and finally the Masters, I probably won’t leave my TV until roughly mid-April next year.
WATCH: Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir practice dog handling skills
Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and two-time U.S. Olympian Johnny Weir are reporters and digital contributor’s to this year’s National Dog Show on NBC today from noon to 2 p.m. across all time zones. But before the show, they went behind the scenes to learn the proper techniques for dog handling in front of the judges.
“Judges can be tricky,” Lipinski laughed, before taking Weir in synchronized step around the ring.
In a second video, below, Lipinski and Weir explored how the dogs are primped and primed for show time.
