London gold medalist and Fierce Fiver Jordyn Wieber will be on hand in Oklahoma this week when she’s awarded the first ever Nadia Comaneci Sportsmanship Award by the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
The award, named after the famous Romanian gold medalist best known for her prefect ten on the bars at the 1976 Games, is given to an active or retired gymnast “who has demonstrated great sportsmanship or fair play.”
Comaneci said she was happy to present the inaugural award to Jordyn because, as as the reigning world champ, “she showed great sportsmanship by overcoming her personal disappointment to help lead the US women to the gold medal,” after failing to make the all-around finals in London.
And of course, gymnastics legends Gina Gogean of Romania, Albert Azaryan of Armenia, and Yuri Korolev and Lyubov Burda of Russia will all be inducted as part of the Hall’s 2013 class.
Lindsey Vonn continued her offseason tour by sailing with Oracle Team USA, winner of the last two America’s Cups, in the Hudson River in New York City on Thursday.
That came one day after Vonn partied with Tom Brady, Jordan Spieth and Vanilla Ice at an Under Armour party in Baltimore.
Vonn is next expected to hit Louisville for this weekend’s Kentucky Derby.
NBC Sports will present live coverage of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series from New York at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday (NBC Sports Live Extra) and Sunday (NBCSN, Live Extra).

The Olympic flame is traversing Brazil by all sorts of means — in a pool, a hot air balloon and even via oxcart on Thursday.
The oxcart portion of the torch relay was captured on video by O Globo in Itaberai, about 170 miles west of the capital of Brasilia.
The flame arrived in Brazil on Tuesday and will conclude its journey in Rio de Janeiro on Aug. 5, with the lighting of the cauldron at the Maracanã.
