Make it seven Olympics in the booth for Rowdy Gaines. Gaines confirmed he signed on with NBC for the 2016 Rio Olympics, as first reported by Swimming World.

Asked about 2020, Gaines, 54, said he’s taking it one Games at a time. The three-time 1984 Olympic gold medalist has called some of swimming’s most memorable moments over the last two decades, including every Games with NBC since 1992. Gaines and Dan Hicks were joined by Summer Sanders at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

Included among Gaines’ calls is all 22 of Michael Phelps’ Olympic medal swims and all 11 Ryan Lochte medals. Gaines competed with Dara Torres in Torres’ first Olympics in 1984 then later called her medal swims in both of her comebacks (2000 and 2008).

“Nobody loves swimming more than I do,” Gaines told Swimming World. “I’ll stack my passion for swimming against anyone.”

As expected the U.S. took gold in both men’s and women’s basketball, with the men winning their third consecutive Olympic gold medal and the women running their streak to six straight. But there was a lot more to take in at the basketball venues, including Serbia’s men’s team winning their first Olympic basketball medal (as an independent nation), and Spain doing the same in the women’s bracket.
