If that medal count didn’t solidify the notion that this wasn’t exactly an upset, consider the fact that Sablikova now has two consecutive gold medals in the women’s 5000m. Here’s her medal haul as of this writing:
5000m gold; 3000m silver
5000m gold, 3000m gold and 1500m bronze.
The 26-year-old debuted in 2006 but couldn’t finish better than fourth in any event.
The Dutch shouldn’t be too upset, however. Ireen Wuest’s silver and Carien Kleibeuker’s bronze give the Netherlands an astounding 21 medals in speed skating, with the possibility of more coming on Wednesday.
Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and two-time U.S. Olympian Johnny Weir are reporters and digital contributor’s to this year’s National Dog Show on NBC today from noon to 2 p.m. across all time zones. But before the show, they went behind the scenes to learn the proper techniques for dog handling in front of the judges.
“Judges can be tricky,” Lipinski laughed, before taking Weir in synchronized step around the ring.
In a second video, below, Lipinski and Weir explored how the dogs are primped and primed for show time.
