As London continues its claim as “the greatest Olympics ever,” they added some pretty solid evidence Tuesday when Bernard Hogan-Howe, head of the Met Police, announced that crime was down roughly six percent in London during the seven weeks of the Olympics and Paralympics.
“Not only did the public seem to enjoy it,” he said, “but also the officers didn’t want to go back.” He later joked with reporters that he wished there was a similar event every year.
Need more evidence? According to London Mayor Boris Johnson (pictured, a really that’s the best he’s ever looked) earlier claimed that only nine people were arrested at Olympic venues during the Games, which is slightly less than your average Philadelphia Eagles home game. Well done, London.
