The Sochi Olympics passed the 150-days-to-go mark this week, an opportune time to release the first in a series of videos about the city.

They will “tell about the city life in anticipation of the Olympic Games on behalf of Sochi citizens,” according to Sochi 2014’s YouTube channel.

The first episode interviewed a city bus driver and showed scenes of his route around the Black Sea resort.

“Every day I drive down the Sochi streets, and every day I see new road junctions, hotels, and malls,” the driver, Michael Belykh, said in Russian. “Sochi is becoming like a European city but at the same time keeps its many traditions, its way of life and preserves nature.”
