As one Olympic torch visited outer space, another one delved deep into a diamond mine in Russia on Friday.

The Olympic torch relay continued in Mirny at the base of the Mir mine, which is 1,730 feet deep and once was the largest open pit diamond mine in the world, according to Mining.com.

The Olympic flame will next travel to Yakutsk in Eastern Siberia by dogs and reindeer sled on Saturday. Simultaneously, an unlit Olympic torch will take a spacewalk outside the International Space Station.

NASA will provide a live stream of the spacewalk beginning at 9 a.m. ET.
