Todd Lodwick was named the flag bearer for the United States on Wednesday by the U.S. Olympic Team. He will lead the United States on Friday in the parade of nations.
Lodwick will become the first U.S. Winter Olympian to compete in his sixth Olympic Games.

Lodwick made his Olympic debut at the age of 17 at the Lillehammer Games in 1994.
Lodwick won the U.S. Olympic Trials in December to earn his spot on the Nordic combined team.

In January, Lodwick crashed in France and injured his shoulder, but despite the recent injury he plans to compete in the team event in Sochi. He is not expected to do individual Nordic combined events.
