Bode Miller says second day of training went great despite ‘big mistake’

U.S. skier Bode Miller didn’t enjoy the fastest finish during his second day of downhill training like he did in his first, but he was still generally happy – if tired – after giving the course another run.

“I skied great,” Miller said, via NBC’s Joe Battaglia. “I just made one really big mistake today. I was definitely more tired today than yesterday.”

Miller finished sixth on Friday. Being that he’s 36 and coming off significant knee surgery, it’s not shocking that he’s experiencing a little fatigue. Even so, it sounds he’ll make another training run to work out the kinks.

“It’s still a little bit awkward linking together for me, coming off the top and linking it to the middle section,” Miller said. “I pretty much have the line sorted. I will try a different ski again tomorrow, then try to clean up the sections.”
