Monday’s men’s moguls action was marred by multiple crashes and wipeouts at Rosa Khutor. But there’s no argument about who had the roughest day, as Russia’s Sergey Volkov sustained big hits on both of his runs.
In his first run, Volkov lost control coming off of the second jump on the course (pictured) and made a hard impact. He was able to make it down to the finish.
He was unlucky again on his second run, when he lost control in the snow after the first jump and cartwheeled before slamming into the ground once again.
The good news is that Volkov, while frustrated, was able to get up and climb the mountain under his own power to collect the gear he’d lost in the incident.
Upon retrieving those items, he then skied out the remainder, earning a cheer for his trouble from the crowd.
