Celtics star Rajon Rondo: I’d be a snowboarder in Winter Olympics

Count Boston Celtics star Rajon Rondo as a snowboarding fan.

The standout point guard and the rest of the C’s have been pondering over what Winter Olympics sport they would take on if they had the opportunity.

And Rondo has apparently been impressed by the likes of Shaun White, Sage Kotsenburg and Jamie Anderson – even though he’s not sure if he’d go into halfpipe like White or slopestyle like the latter two Sochi gold medalists.

“[Which event] depends,” Rondo said to CSNNE.com’s Jimmy Toscano. “I don’t know how fast they’re going, that’s the scary part. You got to be pretty crazy to do that. But I think it’s fun.

“It’s something I’ve never even watched, but this year I’ve watched a lot of the winter sports and it’s very unique. What those guys do – I’m sure they may look at us the same way – but what those guys do you can’t duplicate or go out there and try on your own.

“It’s something they’re professionals at and they’re very good at it.”

Others on the Celtics expressed their preference for snowboarding as well, but were specific with their discipline; Jeff Green and Jared Sullinger chose the halfpipe, while Joel Anthony chose slopestyle.

As all three of those men are 6-foot-9, they’d certainly stand out among their fellow boarders – and above most of them, too.
