One day after Lowell Bailey earned the team’s best-ever individual finish at an Olympics, Susan Dunklee hopes to keep the momentum going for U.S. biathlon in today’s women’s 15km individual.
You can watch the event LIVE on NBCOlympics.com starting at 9 a.m. ET.
In Tuesday’s 10km pursuit, Dunklee was a medal contender for much of the afternoon before falling back to 18th at the finish after missing three shots in her final stage of standing shooting.
Also in the field for Team USA is Lanny Barnes, who was given her spot in Sochi by her twin sister, Tracy; Lanny had been unable to make the Olympics after falling ill and missing multiple qualifying events as a result.

Dunklee, Barnes, and the rest of the field will look to dethrone the reigning women’s individual champion at the Olympics, Norway’s Tora Berger.
Another contender is Darya Domracheva of Belarus, who won the aforementioned pursuit race and is out for a second Sochi gold.
