Deibold, 27, managed the bronze in snowboard cross today.
“We lost Chelone Miller last spring. He died of a seizure. I’d like to dedicate this medal to Chelone,” Deibold said. “I know he’s up there looking down on us. He was the embodiment of snowboarding, and he always had a smile on his face. I just want to take this chance to dedicate this to him and his family.”
Bode Miller, 36, capped an emotional bronze medal win in the super-G on Sunday by honoring Chelone, who died at 29 in April.
