Sweden might not look like a top seed on paper, as injuries and a manageable group draw make one wonder how strong the Swedes really are. Still, there’s easily enough talent on the ice – and one of the best goalies in the world in Henrik Lundqvist in net – so a gold (if not a podium spot) is perfectly plausible.

They’ll need to beat one of the inspiring stories of the tournament in Slovenia to get to the semifinals. Anze Kopitar’s country didn’t just beat Austria; they shut them out 4-0. Combine that with respectable losses and a win against Slovakia and the fledgling hockey nation is already playing with house money.

The winner of this game faces the winner of Finland – Russia in the semifinals.
