The website for the company of U.S. Alpine skiing gold medalist Ted Ligety is back up after crashing following his win in yesterday’s men’s giant slalom.
Ligety is the president of Shred, which specializes in creating helmets, goggles and sunglasses for skiers. He co-founded the company in 2006, a year that also saw him win his first Olympic gold at Torino in the combined.
But with American TV viewers catching Ligety’s big win in primetime, the subsequent burst of traffic to ShredOptics.com was apparently too much for the site’s servers according to Business Insider.
As you can see in the photos below, Ligety doesn’t just run Shred – he competes with its products, providing the company with world-wide publicity in the process.
That said, one figures that a further investment on the tech side of his company may be in order…
