‘Go Get Em’ – Canadian women’s hockey team leaves message to male counterparts

Thursday and Friday were big days for Canadian ice sports, as both genders’ curling and ice hockey teams scored big wins. Let there be no doubt that there was plenty of team spirit going on, either, as CTV’s Daniele Hamamdjian unearthed this message from the women’s ice hockey team to the men’s squad:

Really, the men’s squad made the U.S. fight for every inch, as Canada’s suffocating defense limited chances and goalie Carey Price cleaned up the rest in a tight 1-0 semifinal win.

Canadian women’s hockey icon Hayley Wickenheiser co-authored the note along with Brianne Jenner and Shannon Szabados. The women’s team won a dramatic 3-2 OT win to take gold while the men’s team awaits a gold-medal match against Sweden on Sunday.

As far as their opponents go, the U.S. women’s team settled for silver while the men’s team faces Finland for the bronze on Saturday. Here’s the link for that game, which kicks in at 10 a.m. ET.
