Russia, Ukraine to grapple in World Cup wrestling event

Russian and Ukrainian wrestlers will face each other in a World Cup wrestling competition in Inglewood, Calif., on March 15, a significant matchup given the situation between the two nations back home.

The International Wrestling Federation (FILA) announced the pool draw for the event at The Forum on Tuesday. Ukraine will face Russia in one of eight opening-session matchups before the Opening Ceremony at the Los Angeles Lakers’ former home.

The U.S. is also one of the 10 nations competing in Inglewood.
