Wheelchair Curling

The U.S. wheelchair curling team faces a critical Wednesday at the Paralympics with two of its final three games scheduled.

The Americans (2-4) open play against China (3-3) at 1:30 a.m. ET live on NBCSN, followed later with a game against Sweden (2-4). Two losses will eliminate the U.S. from medal contention. Even a 1-1 result, at this point, might not be enough.

The U.S. entered the day ninth out of 10 teams in round-robin play after qualifying second into the semifinals in 2010 and ending up fourth.

Russia led the overall- and gold-medal counts with 34 and 11, respectively, after four days. The U.S. is tied for the third most overall medals — seven — but has zero golds so far.
