Rio Olympic Park construction workers on strike

Work at the Rio 2016 Olympic Park has been slowed by a strike from more than 2,000 construction workers since Thursday, according to The Associated Press.

The news comes after the International Olympic Committee mentioned a “necessary sense of urgency” in delayed preparations for the Olympics two weeks ago.

The International Golf Federation president said last week next year’s golf test event in Rio may be canceled.

The president of a company preparing the city to host the Games announced her resignation this week.
