US Speedskating sprint coach Ryan Shimabukuro is stepping down after 16 years, the latest organization official to leave after a disappointing showing at the Sochi Olympics.

Shimabukuro announced the move on his Facebook page, according to The Associated Press. His contract had expired, according to the Chicago Tribune.

US Speedskating’s high performance director, Finn Halvorsen, and allround coach, Kip Carpenter, previously departed.

The exodus came after the U.S. failed to finish better than sixth in any race in Sochi, its first Winter Games without a speed skating medal since Sarajevo 1984. The U.S. has historically won more medals in speed skating than any other Winter Olympic sport.
