Olympic stars show support for U.S. Soccer at World Cup

A bevy of tweets, Instagram and Facebook posts from Olympians flooded social media in the minutes before U.S. and Ghana kicked off at the World Cup on Monday night.

They continued in the first minute as Clint Dempsey scored a lightning-fast goal and after the U.S. won 2-1. While Dempsey and game-winning-goal scorer John Brooks never played at the Olympics, some of their U.S. Men’s National Team mates did, and their fellow Olympians were fired up for the match.
