Meryl Davis and Charlie White booked another stop on their whirlwind post-Olympic tour, as grand marshals of NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Pure Michigan 400 on Aug. 17 at Michigan International Speedway.
The Michigan natives are soaking up the fame that goes with winning the first U.S. Olympic ice dancing gold medal in Sochi. They also won bronze in the team event and were the most decorated Americans at the 2014 Winter Games.
Davis and White said they would sit out the 2014-15 figure skating season on June 6, but they have not retired.
They both competed on “Dancing with the Stars,” won by Davis on May 20, and White got engaged to 2006 Olympic silver medalist ice dancer Tanith Belbin on June 10.
