Olympic pairs champions Tatyana Volosozhar and Maksim Trankov will sit out the Grand Prix figure skating season due to Trankov’s shoulder injury, according to Russia’s figure skating federation.
The Russians were entered in Skate America in Hoffman Estates, Ill., in three weeks and the Cup of China in Shanghai in November.
They could still return for events in early 2015, such as the European Championships and World Championships.
