Rio de Janeiro and the city’s 2016 Olympic golf course developer must decide this week if they will move three holes, redesigning part of the course to preserve a nature reserve, a judge ruled Monday.

“The defendants must say in five days whether they will immediately remove holes 12, 14 and 15 and relocate them in a way that allows for the preservation of the area,” a judge said, according to The Associated Press.

Construction delays have set back completing the course for the first Olympic golf tournaments since 1904.

A lawsuit was brought against the course developer in September, citing environmental concerns.

An Olympic golf test event was originally hoped to be played one year before the Olympics but is now slated for late 2015 or early 2016.
