Gus Kenworthy, Chas Guldemond wrap up Dew Tour with victories (video)


Gus Kenworthy beat both the men he shared the Olympic podium with in Sochi, taking the Dew Tour Mountain Championships ski slopestyle title in Breckenridge, Colo., on Sunday.

Kenworthy, the Olympic silver medalist, performed a double cork 1080 and two 900s on his winning run that scored 88.75 points, according to

Kenworthy’s earlier run also would have won the title, with an 86.25.

In Sochi, Kenworthy was part of the third-ever U.S. sweep of a Winter Olympic event. He won silver behind Joss Christensen and ahead of Nick Goepper.

On Sunday, Goepper was third and Christensen fifth. Norwegian Oystein Braten, who was 10th in Sochi, finished second in Breckenridge.

Kenworthy was also fourth in ski halfpipe on Saturday after qualifying first into that final.

In men’s snowboard slopestyle, U.S. Olympian Chas Guldemond prevailed with a first-run 92. Guldemond failed to make the final in Sochi.

Sochi Olympic champion Sage Kotsenburg didn’t make the final in Breckenridge.

Second place at Dew Tour was Canadian Sebastien Toutant (ninth in Sochi) with an 87.75. Sochi bronze medalist Mark McMorris of Canada was fifth Sunday.
