Lindsey Vonn races for a medal for the first time in two years on Tuesday, in the same event where she crashed and blew out her right knee on Feb. 5, 2013.
Vonn ended up missing the Sochi Olympics, needed another surgery and didn’t return fully healthy to ski racing until this season.
She’s been on fire the last two months, winning five times in 10 races and breaking the women’s World Cup career victories record.
Today, she’s the favorite to come back and win the World Championships super-G in Beaver Creek, Colo. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra:
Vonn’s top challengers include reigning World champion Slovenian Tina Maze, Olympic champion Austrian Anna Fenninger and World Cup champion Swiss Lara Gut.
