Weightlifter Holley Mangold‘s Olympic spirit has gone to her head.
The London Olympian posted on Instagram that she got her first tattoo. It’s of the Olympic rings, not unusual for an athlete. It’s on her head, which is unusual. One of Mangold’s close friends confirmed the tattoo was real in an email Friday morning.
Mangold, the 25-year-old younger sister of New York Jets All-Pro center Nick Mangold, placed 10th in the super-heavyweight division at the London Games.
She was 13th at the World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in November, one of the best American finishes.
The U.S. has not won an Olympic or World Championships weightlifting medal since 2005.
