Olympic champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White and Katie Ledecky are among 14 semifinalists for the Sullivan Award, which honors the nation’s outstanding amateur athlete for 2014.
Also nominated were World champion gymnast Simone Biles, Olympic bronze medalist luger Erin Hamlin, Olympic champion water polo player Maggie Steffens and World champion wrestler Adeline Gray.
They make up the top semifinalists among Olympians and Olympic hopefuls. They’ll go up against Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Marcus Mariota, Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott and Duke center Jahlil Okafor, among others.
Voting is available here and will close Sunday. A winner will be announced among six finalists on April 19.
In 2014, Davis and White became the first U.S. ice dancers to win Olympic gold. Ledecky broke swimming world records in three events. Biles became the first U.S. woman to win four gold medals at a single World Gymnastics Championships.
Hamlin became the first U.S. Olympic singles luge medalist, Steffens was named the international women’s water polo Player of the Year and Gray won a World Wrestling Championship.
Olympians or Paralympians won the Sullivan Award nine of the last 14 years, including swimmer Missy Franklin two years ago.
