American record holder Tyson Gay and Olympic silver medalist Carmelita Jeter advanced Thursday to Friday’s 100m semifinals in Eugene, Ore.
The semifinals are at 8 p.m. ET, with the finals during the broadcast window at 10:21.
The top three finishers in each final will earn spots on the U.S. team for the World Championships in Beijing from Aug. 22-30.

Other men’s 100m semifinalists include Trayvon Bromell, a 19-year-old who ran a personal-best 9.84 in the first round Thursday to become the fourth fastest American man of all time behind Gay, Justin Gatlin (who has a bye into Worlds in the 100m) and 2000 Olympic champion Maurice Greene.
Jeter’s semifinal competition includes 2014 U.S. champion Tianna Bartoletta, 2013 U.S. champion English Gardner and Tori Bowie, the world’s fastest woman in 2014.
Other Friday finals include the last events of the decathlon, including 2011 World champion and Olympic silver medalist Trey Hardee. Plus, the men’s and women’s 400m and 800m semifinals with Olympic champions LaShawn Merritt, Allyson Felix and Sanya Richards-Ross.
