Ryan Seacrest will return to the Olympics as host of NBC’s late-night coverage of the Rio 2016 Games.
Seacrest was a special correspondent for NBC at the London 2012 Games.
“Joining the NBC Olympics team at the 2012 London Games was an exhilarating experience,” Seacrest said in a press release. “I appreciate [NBC Olympics Executive Producer] Jim Bell’s confidence, along with everyone at NBC Sports. I can’t wait to reunite with the team of broadcasters and producers for the 2016 Rio Olympics, and I look forward to hosting the live late night show.”
Seacrest was also a Closing Ceremony host at London 2012. The Rio Olympics begin Aug. 5.
In 2004, Seacrest carried the Olympic flame during the torch relay for the Athens Games.
“The late-night atmosphere will be electric,” Bell said in a press release. “And we’re thrilled to have Ryan Seacrest in the middle of it all capturing Rio’s unique flavor, talking to Olympic athletes and telling the stories of the day.”
