Simone Biles goes for her third straight U.S. all-around title, while Olympic champion Gabby Douglas competes in her first national meet since 2012 at the P&G Championships, live on NBC and NBC Sports Live Extra on Saturday night.
Biles, an 18-year-old Texan, has won eight straight all-around competitions dating back more than two years. She is the two-time reigning World all-around champion and the prohibitive favorite for gold in Rio.
She holds a 1.4-point lead over Maggie Nichols heading into the final night of competition at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Douglas, 19, returned to competition this year for the first time since the London Olympics. She finished second to Biles at the Secret Classic on July 25 and is in third place, 2.4 points behind.
Douglas, Aly Raisman (who is in fourth place) and Kyla Ross (who is in 12th place) are trying to become the first women to make back-to-back U.S. Olympic teams since 2000.
Following the meet, the top U.S. gymnasts will head to national team camps after which the six-woman team for the World Championships is expected to be named in October.
The World Championships are in the last week of October in Glasgow, Scotland.
