Organizers flubbed the Russian national anthem on consecutive days at World Championships events on two different continents.

On Monday, the wrong Russian anthem was played during the medal ceremony for Roman Vlasov after he won the Greco-Roman wrestling 75kg World title in Las Vegas, according to Russian reports.

Organizers played the Russian anthem from the 1990s, which was replaced 15 years ago by the old Soviet anthem but with new lyrics.

On Tuesday, Russian fans reportedly sang their anthem a cappella at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, after a malfunction during Margarita Mamun‘s ceremony for winning the hoop.

That ceremony is on YouTube, with no sound, but it’s clear from the 13-minute mark that something was amiss.
