Ronda Rousey joins list of Olympians to host ‘Saturday Night Live’

Ronda Rousey, a 2008 Olympic judo bronze medalist, will become the first Olympian to host “Saturday Night Live” since 2012 on Jan. 23.

The last Olympian to host was retired basketball player Charles Barkley on Jan. 7, 2012.

The last active Olympian to host was Michael Phelps on Sept. 13, 2008, a few weeks after his eight-for-eight gold-medal performance at the Beijing Games.

Rousey is expected to have a rematch with Holly Holm on July 9, after Holm handed Rousey her first MMA defeat Nov. 15.
