The Americans, winners of the last three Olympic titles and the 2015 Women’s World Cup, play world No. 108 Puerto Rico at 8:30 p.m. ET in Frisco, Texas.
The U.S. already clinched a spot in Friday’s semifinals of the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament.
A win or tie against Puerto Rico clinches first place in the group, meaning the Americans would almost surely avoid rival Canada in the semifinals.
That’s key, since the semifinal winners qualify for the Olympics, while the losers are eliminated from Olympic contention.
The U.S. roster for Olympic qualifying includes 13 of the 23 players from the World Cup, led by Olympic champions Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan and Hope Solo.
All 15 matches of the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament will be streamed live on NBC Sports Live Extra.
