Mary Carillo and Jimmy Roberts, who have a combined 27 Olympics between them, will return as correspondents for NBC’s coverage of the Rio Games that open Aug. 5.
In past Olympics, Carillo and Roberts provided daily essays on prominent Olympic sports stories as well as features on the Olympic host city and country.
That will continue at the first Olympics in South America, including pieces on a wide range of locales, from the rainforest to the beach and more.
“With nearly three decades of Olympics experience, Mary and Jimmy are adept at getting to the heart of unknown Olympic stories that viewers look forward to over the course of our coverage,” said Jim Bell, Executive Producer, NBC Olympics.
Carillo has spent nearly three weeks traversing Brazil to film her travelogues ahead of her 13th Olympic assignment and 10th with NBC.
Roberts, a 13-time Emmy Award winner, is reprising his role covering the stories of the Games in his 16th Olympic assignment overall.
