U.S. goalie Hope Solo will go to the Olympics if chosen, but she still has concerns about the Zika virus, according to Sports Illustrated‘s Grant Wahl.
Earlier Thursday, the U.S. women’s national team learned its group opponents and first three matches.
The U.S. will play one match in Manaus, which made headlines during the 2014 World Cup for a large amount of mosquitoes. Mosquitoes can carry the Zika virus.
In February, Solo said she would not go to the Rio Olympics if she had to choose then, citing being uncomfortable with the current situation in Brazil including Zika.
Rio Games organizing officials Dr. Joao Granger has said Olympians would be at minimal risk in August, that there will be fewer mosquitoes in Brazil’s winter (opposite the U.S. summer), according to The Associated Press.
