Michele Tafoya joins Dan Hicks, Rowdy Gaines for Olympic swimming

Michele Tafoya will cover Olympic swimming for the first time, joining Dan Hicks and Rowdy Gaines poolside on the NBC broadcast team in Rio.

Tafoya previously covered three Olympics.

She was a sports-desk reporter at London 2012, worked rhythmic gymnastics and softball at Sydney 2000 and was a late-night host for CBS at Nagano 1998.

Hicks and Gaines have covered swimming together at every Olympics since Atlanta 1996, with the three-time 1984 Olympic champion Gaines debuting at Barcelona 1992.

Hicks, Gaines and Tafoya teamed for the 2015 World Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia.
