It’s unknown if Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios will play in the Olympics, so he asked the public for its opinion.
A post on Kyrgios’ social media asked the public to comment if the Australian team would be “better without me” and like and share if it was selecting and wanted him on the squad.
Kyrgios, the top-ranked Australian at No. 20 in the world, wants to play in the Olympics, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
Last Saturday, Australian Olympic chef de mission Kitty Chiller urged Kyrgios and the No. 2 Australian, Bernard Tomic, to improve their behavior if they hoped to be named to the Olympic team.
“If you don’t want to pick me or Bernard, you know, there are plenty of others you can pick to represent your country, as well,” Kyrgios responded Monday. “If you don’t want two of the best players in Australia to represent your country, so be it.”
Tomic responded on Thursday by saying he would skip the Olympics and play a low-level ATP Tour event instead.
