Harper-Nelson eliminated from 100m hurdles in semis

Dawn Harper-Nelson was eliminated in the semifinals of the women’s 100m hurdles. She missed the final by .01 seconds.

With heavy rains pounding the track and wind in the athletes’ faces, Harper-Nelson finished third in 13.01 seconds. Kristi Castlin finished first in 12.77 seconds, while Jasmin Stowers placed second in 12.91.

Favorites Keni Harrison and Brianna Rollins also qualified for the final.

The 32-year-old Harper-Nelson won gold in the category at the Beijing 2008 Games and silver at the London 2012 Games. In the first round of competition at Trials, she ran the ninth-fastest time – 12.85 seconds.
