China’s Olympic Committee said it will send 416 athletes to the Rio Games, which would be its largest roster ever, behind when it hosted the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

China had 599 competitors at the Beijing Games, 384 at Athens 2004 and 375 at London 2012, according to sports-reference.com.

The Chinese roster in Rio will include nearly 100 more women than men (256 women, 160 men). Its youngest athlete is 14-year-old swimmer Ai Yanhan.

The U.S. roster will be approximately 555 athletes, with nobody younger than age 16 for the first time since 1948, according to sports-reference.com.
