The U.S. women’s basketball team completed a sweep of its pre-Olympic exhibition schedule, beating longtime rival Australia 104-89 in New York on Sunday.
Diana Taurasi scored a team-high 20 points, with Elena Delle Donne adding 19. A full box score is here.
The U.S. beat Australia, Canada (83-43), France (84-62) and the U.S. select team of young WNBA players 88-84 in the last week. France and Australia were silver and bronze medalists in London.
Sue Bird, Maya Moore, Tina Charles and Taurasi, who all played under U.S. coach Geno Auriemma at the University of Connecticut, started all of those exhibition games with Tamika Catchings, Sylvia Fowles, Breanna Stewart and Delle Donne also receiving one start each.
The U.S. opens its Olympic schedule against Senegal on Aug. 7.
The U.S. has won 41 straight Olympic games since losing to the Unified Team in the Barcelona 1992 semifinals.
