Jack Sock has the misfortune of his first Olympic match being a first for this year’s Games.
The American, 23, was ousted by Taro Daniel of Japan 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of men’s singles in Rio on Saturday.

Daniel moves on to face Great Britain’s Kyle Edmund in the second round.
