Boxing, rugby sevens and shooting move to day two of competition Sunday, with medals to be awarded in both women’s shooting events.
After going 2-0 Saturday USA Boxing has Sunday off, as the men’s lightweight, welterweight and light heavyweight competitions get going. Among those in action will be Russian Andrei Zamokovoi looking to improve upon the bronze medal he won in the welterweight division four years ago. And Thailand’s Amnat Ruenroeng, one of three professional boxers to enter the Olympic competition, will make his debut in Rio as well.

The U.S. women’s rugby team takes on the No. 1 seed, Australia, and Ellia Green, who is considered the fastest woman in rugby. The Australians won both of their matches Saturday, while the Americans followed up a close loss to Fiji with a decisive win over Colombia. The match is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. Eastern. During the evening session the quarterfinal round of the rugby sevens tournament will be played.

Medals will be awarded in two shooting competitions Sunday, the women’s 10m air pistol and the women’s trap. Preliminary rounds begin at 9:00 a.m., with the final for the 10m air pistol scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and the women’s trap semifinals beginning at 2:00 p.m. Enkelejda Shehaj Bekurti and Lydia Patterson of the United States will be competing in the air pistol competition, with Corey Cogdell being the lone American in the women’s trap. Also being held Sunday are the prelims of the men’s trap.
