American light flyweight Nico Hernandez, who won all three rounds in his round of 32 victory over Italy’s Manuel Cappai, looks to earn a spot in the quarterfinal round as he takes on Russia’s Vasilii Egorov. Egorov earned a by into the round of 16, and last year he won gold at the European championships and silver at the World championships. This will be a tough matchup for Hernandez, one of the fighters looking to lead a resurgence in USA Boxing after the men failed to win a single medal in London.
