After two sets of back-and-forth, the United States women’s volleyball team made sure to put its consistency problems to bed on Wednesday in Rio.
The top-ranked U.S. team took the first set 25-17, but Serbia responded with a 25-21 victory in the second.
Serbia was busy in blocks, but also errors, early.
The U.S. put it right back together in the third set, unloading on Serbia as the set wore on, and picking up a 25-18 win.
It was more or less cruise control from that point onward, sustaining a too-late rally from Serbia to take the fourth set 25-19.
