Team USA’s all-around mastery continued Thursday, as Simone Biles and Aly Raisman thrilled in the women’s all-around.

At times, it felt like the only question was whether Raisman could catch Biles.

Raisman was essentially perfect on her floor routine, which came right before Biles. And Biles delivered.

Biles grabbed gold with a 62.198, Raisman second with a 60.098, while Russia’s Aliya Mustafina took bronze with 58.665.

Team USA repeated the 2008 heroics of Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson, who finished 1-2 in an American first.

Gabby Douglas won Gold in London, Liukin in Beijing, and Carly Patterson in Athens. Mary Lou Retton snared gold in 1984, while Shannon Miller is the other U.S. gymnast to medal. She took silver in 1992.
