The United States went 0-for-3 across boxing and wrestling on Monday morning.

The toughest break came for American flyweight boxer Antonio Vargas, who ran into a buzzsaw in Uzbekistan’s Shakhobidin Zoirov.

The 20-year-old Team USA boxer won his first match on Saturday, but lost 3-0 to a technically brilliant Zoirov on Monday.

It was one-and-done for U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers Robby Smith and Ben Provisor.

The 26-year-old Provisor put up a good battle in the 85kg 1/8 final, but lost 6-3 to Uzbekistan’s Rustam Assakalov.

Smith, 29, had a tougher time with Azerbaijan’s Sabah Shariati, who took down the 130kg fighter 8-2.
