Emma Coburn has his first Olympic medal, and its the first women’s steeplechase medal in American history.
The Colorado native ran a 9:07.63 in the 3000m steeplechase final, well ahead of fourth and a half-second from silver.
Bahrain’s Ruth Jebet took gold with a 8:59.75, while Kenya’s Hyvin Kiyeng Jepkemoi snared silver.
USA’s Colleen Quigley finished eight, and American runner Courtney Frerichs was 11th.
