Laurie Hernandez can be forgiven for not taking care of her usual dish-washing chores at home, as she confessed to Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday. She has been a little busy the last few months.
The full Kimmel interview starts at the 31-minute mark of last night’s episode here.
Hernandez, the first U.S. female Olympian born in the 2000s, just wrapped up being part of USA Gymnastics’ two-month, 36-city, post-Olympic tour across the U.S.
She managed to fit in some tour appearances while training for and performing on “Dancing with the Stars,” where she has proven one of the best contestants in show history with five straight perfect scores.
Her foxtrot on Monday, which put her and partner Val Chmerkovskiy into next week’s finals, was her most emotional yet.
All this after Hernandez won team gold and balance beam silver at the Rio Olympics. One year before that, she was competing in the junior division.Follow @nbcolympictalk
